QESHM OVERSEA-CROSSING 230 kV DOUBLE-CIRCUIT TRANSMISSION LINE

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: The shortest distance between the island and land for overhead transmission line was selected with a length of 3300 m. Two specific features of this project were the necessity of using very long spans and making necessary arrangements for installation of tower in the sea which were implemented. The tallest tower used in this project is about 140 m in height and 135 tons in weight. Pad size is 30 x 30 x 70 and chimney is 70 m high.

MOSHANIR’S ROLE: All phases of design, factory tests and supervision on construction work.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS: Construction operation of this project is unique in its kind, and all foundation construction work (especially Caisson foundation on the sea bed) installation of tower and cabling were carried out with special arrangements and a very precise and complicated engineering calculations.
